Installation knowledge of four-row cylindrical roller bearings

Four-row cylindrical roller bearings are one of the most commonly used rolling mill bearings. The service life of rolling mill bearings is not only related to the quality of bearings but also closely related to its installation and use. Therefore, the relevant technical requirements must be observed in the installation and operation of bearings.
Before installation, carefully check the mating surface of the roller neck, bearing box, bearing ring, bearing box cover plate, etc., to check whether its size, shape, position, accuracy, etc., meet the technical requirements of the design. Bearing boxes and oil holes matching bearings must be removed, cleaned and lubricated.
The steps for installing four-rows cylindrical roller bearings are as follows:
1) Install labyrinth loops.
The fit between the labyrinth ring and the roller neck is generally a tight fit and is tapped gently with a copper rod during installation. Both ends of the labyrinth ring must be flat and fit closely with the shaft shoulder and bearing inner ring

2) Install the inner ring
The inner ring has an interference fit with the rolling neck. When installing, the inner ring should be heated to 90-100°, not more than 120°. Prevent the inner ring from being completely retracted after cooling. The heating method can be tank heating or induction heating. Prohibit flame heating.
When installing double inner rings such as FCD type, inner and inner, inner and labyrinth rings must be in close contact with the final face of the inner ring in the axial direction during cooling of the inner ring, with thickness gauge and check.
3) Install the outer ring
The outer ring of four-rows cylindrical roller bearings is generally matched with the inner hole of the bearing seat. For smaller bearings, outer rings, rollers and cages can be tapped gently into the housing with copper rods. For larger bearings, the lifting holes provided by the outer ring or the cage can be used to lift the outer ring and outer ring components and put them vertically down into the bearing box.
For four-rows of cylindrical rollers with movable bars, the retainer, outer piece, middle retainer and bearing of the same type shall not be interchangeable. The outer ring face is marked with load area. When installed for the first time, the direction of the rolling load should be aligned with mark Ⅰ. During later cleaning and reinstallation, the rolling load can be aligned with remaining marks and markings to extend the service life of the bearing.
